Plug & Play Balcony Photovoltaics: What it’s all about and how to save on expensive utility bills

In order to save on energy bills and reduce pollution, we often hear about renewable energy sources, but these solutions are not always economical.

Today we are going to talk about a small PV system that needs no paperwork and turns the sun’s energy into energy for your home: the Plug & Play.

It deals with a photovoltaic panel with less than 400W power to be installed on the balcony (wall or garden) and plugged directly into a household outlet; in that way, the energy produced is immediately usable.

With this mini-photovoltaic,the energy produced will not cover the energy needs of the house but will reduce the cost of utility bills. If the electricity produced is not used, it is fed into the grid without being paid for.

The Plug & Play consists of a photovoltaic panel (with less than 400W power), a micro-inverter that enables the conversion of the current produced by the panel into an alternating current to be used at home, and attachment brackets for fixing the panel to the balcony (to the wall or in the garden). In order to immediately use the energy by the photovoltaic panel, it simply needs to be installed and plugged directly into a home power outlet.

If the panel is installed and oriented in the best way toward the sunlight, it can produce up to 400 kWh of electricity in a year. Therefore, the monthly electricity expenditure will be reduced by up to 25%, and in a short time, the cost of the panel will be amortized. The average panel life is about 25 years and the degradation is minimal, which means that after 20 years of use, its efficiency will have dropped by only about 20 percent.
